Secular naming ceremonies and confirmations

Price: 49.000 kr.

Member discount (1 parent / 2 parents): 10.000 / 20.000 kr.

* Included in our naming ceremonies and confirmation is an interview with the parents, content advice, ceremony script and performance.


Group confirmations

Confirmation fee / ceremony fee: 25.000 kr.

Course fee (estimated price): 45.000 – 65.000 kr.

Member discount of the course fee (1 parent / 2 parents): 10.000 / 20.000 kr.


Weddings and funerals

Price: 80.000 kr.

Member discount (1 member / 2 members): 20.000 / 40.000 kr.

We offer some advice on the location of the ceremony, but please note that other arrangements and logistics required are not included in your celebrant's role.

Funerals

Price: 80.000 kr.
Discount if a family member is a member in Siðmennt: 40.000 kr.
If the deceased was a member the ceremony is free of charge.

Casket laying / burial at a time other than the funeral

Price: 17.500 kr.

Member discount: 17.500 kr.


Fees related to the locations of the ceremonies:

Travel cost: 184 ikr per km for the year 2023

Waiting & hiking fee: 10.000 ikr per hour

* For ceremonies outside our central service areas (Reykjavík) we charge 184 ikr per km (according to the price list of 2023).

* The fee is charged according to price list at the time of the ceremony.

* For example: From Reykjavik to Thingvellir is 95 km back and forth. Total cost will then be 80.000 + 17.480 (95x184) = 87.480 ikr. (All calculations are based on Google maps distances and majority of celebrants are based in Reykjavík.)

* If a significant delay of the ceremony occurs, we reserve the right to add a cost of 10.000 ikr per hour of delay to cover the waiting time for the celebrant. This cost also applies if there is a significant amount of walking included. Waiting fee or/and hiking fee is charged afterwards and added only if applicable.

* If the celebrant needs to wait or hike for half an hour in total, an extra 5.000 ikr is added.

* Please note that in certain cases the celebrant may have to spend the night in a hotel. That cost is added to the travel costs and the cost of the ceremony. Further information is provided by Siðmennt’s employees.
